Code Anime: Imo the best anime and manga app on playstore.
So I was going through the new apps on playstore and I came across this anime app. I installed and when I opening it I had to sign up before being able to use it. I did and the app was very good I think it is the best on playstore. It has anime and manga and you get 3 sources which have 4 resolutions which are 360p, 720p and 1080p and 1080p fastest. That's what was there. I tried all the resolution and even the 360p looked very good. You can play with external player even though the internal player is not bad. You can also download videos by making 1dm your external player or just visit their website to download from there. To help distinguish the app its color is yellow and black The app is smooth and fast so I wanted to recommend it. I do not own the app just doing it because I think it is a great app.

It was Naoki Urasawa's "Monster". No anime has made me feel dark and hopeful at the same time. Some quotes even felt like an extended hug. It was extremly thought-provoking, deep and meaningful. One thing that bugs me is how criminically underrated it is. I wish there was a renaissance for animes from the 90's or that Netflix would acquire the rights and the resulting hype would boost its popularity. I just need more people to watch this masterpiece. I loved how realistic it is (I live in Germany), how it didn't gloss over the darkest issues and even addressed serious social concerns (post second world war Germany was and still is suffering from racism against minorities). I know the animation style can't keep up with the current style but it has its own aesthetic and each character is so interesting that they warrant their own short movies or stories. Seriously, go ahead and watch it. Be warned though it's pace is slow (because of the many character arcs). Finally, I want to conclude my little propaganda show with one of my favorite quotes by one of my favorite characters from the show: "You were brought into this world because somebody wanted you to be here. Someone definitely wanted you here."

This is extremely nostalgic for me. I earnestly became an otaku (no "weebs" in 2005) around 2004 I think. And I read that list and the reviews behind it up and down and up again as the main source to decide what to buy next. I think my about 50 oldest DVDs (no Bluray in 2005) are all from that list or what would appear there during 2005/2006.
I just remembered an extremely old podcast question, and I figured I'd ask it here with the added benefit of several years of more options.
